NCD 2022

DID SOMEONE SAY NO-CANNES-DO? MSA SAYS CANNES-DO 2022!

After a one year ‘hiatus’, No-Cannes-Do was back to celebrate its 12th annual celebrations - and it did bigger and better than ever!

Thursday 10th March saw the return of No-Cannes-Do with the biggest turnout yet!  In the wake of the ‘absence’ of 2021, it was no surprise that No-Cannes-Do 2022 was more popular than ever.

It was clear that the industry’s ‘best event of the year’ had been missed, and Michael Sparks Associates were delighted to be instrumental in bringing it back to the calendar once again.

The sun was shining on the sector’s finest as they enjoyed the celebrations and brilliant networking opportunity at the iconic OXO Tower, just like old times.

MSA are extremely proud to sponsor such a fantastic event alongside Canmoor, DTRE, GLP and McLaren.

This year, fundraising for First Touch and the Ukraine appeal (DEC) brought in record levels of donations. We were aiming for £22k at No-Cannes-Do 2022 and we exceeded expectations.  We couldn’t be happier.

The day was a huge success in every way!  A big thank you to all involved.

The three new units, DC2, DC3 and DC4, total 476,975 sqft and will provide warehouse industrial space, loading areas, ancillary office space, ground level car parking, and landscaping.

Practical Completion is due June 2022.

Grand Union

Michael Sparks Associates are proud to be working with SEGRO plc and St George, a member of the Berkeley Group Plc, to design and deliver SEGRO’s first multi-storey industrial development in the UK: V-Park Grand Union.

Bourn Quarter

MSA are the architects for the 25 acre redevelopment of an existing employment site known as Bourn Quarter formerly occupied by Thyssen Krupp/Gestamp Tallent situated in the north east quadrant of the Bourn Airfield area, between Cambourne and Cambridge. The remainder of the former World War II airfield is being developed by leading housebuilder Countryside PLC. The predominantly brownfield site has outline planning consent to become a vibrant landscape-led community of 3,500 homes, community facilities, schools and open spaces over the next decade.

Savills Investment Management procured and implemented the project alongside development management partner Aitchison Developments.

Inspired by the Dutch High Tech Campus Eindhoven, the project is defined as an “unique R&D, Life Science and Warehousing business park”.

Phase One was granted full planning consent in January 2021.  Concurrently, outline planning permission was granted for Phase Two of the development, of approximately 5 acres / 2 hectares. The site has a further 4.5 acres / 1.8 hectares of land available for a third phase of development.

Phase One will provide 15 industrial units totalling 173,000 sqft. The largest unit, of 56,430 sqft, has been pre-let to the innovative design and technology company Cambridge Design Partnership. The remaining units range from 1,710 sqft to 27,150 sqft.

Readie Construction Ltd was appointed as the main contractor for the first phase of development. Works started on site in May 2021 and are due for completion in February 2022.
